Wet Underfloor Heating

What is ‘wet’ underfloor heating? A water-based underfloor heating system is a series of pipes connected to a boiler via a manifold. It circulates warm water throughout the floor to heat the space.

Underfloor heating saves you money Because the heat released from an underfloor system is more evenly distributed than a single radiator, the system can use water at a lower temperature. So it's a more efficient way of heating your home.

Where can underfloor be fitted? Underfloor heating is generally associated with stone or tiled floors, but we can fit it in a carpeted room - you'll just need to ensure that the carpet and underlay isn't so dense that it stops the heat moving upwards (a tog of no more than 2.5 is a general rule of thumb).

Design & Project Management

We can advise you on all aspects of your underfloor heating system. We can calculate the exact piping required to give you maximise the heat output from the floor area.

Supply and Install

We are independent so have access to a wide range of wet underfloor heating systems and components. With over 20 years experience we can advise on what would suit you and your lifestyle best, and be able to suggest the best brand and system for your home.

We can install underneath any hard floor, from tiles to wood. Wet heating systems are most easily installed where the floor can be pulled up and then put back into place or installed when a new extension of home refurbishment is talking place. We can work with your architect or builder to ensure the whole installation goes smoothly.

Underfoor heating fitting process

Stage One - Removing existing floor We quickly and neatly remove the existing floor system, whether it is wood, laminate or tiles.

Stage Two - Laying the Pipes
All pipes are laid according to the manufacturers instructions to ensure they are regularly spaced so that the heat spreads evenly when the system is in operation.

Stage Three - Screed
Wet underfloor heating systems are covered in a layer of screed that assists with insulation and helps the heat generated to be felt more quickly.

Stage Four - Test and Commission Finally we test all pipes and ensure no airlocks are in place. We then commission the system to ensure it is working perfectly.
